the original skate magazine is stoked to be the official media partner yet again for the 3rd annual Bayou Battle in Houston, Texas on January 8-10th. We suggest starting your 2016 off with some serious skateboarding action by joining us and the hundreds of skaters and spectators who will be attending this year’s garage race bonanza and three-day skate festival presented by Carve Skateshop and hosted by Team NoBull. Did we mention that there’s a 7,000 Prize Purse!!!?!!!

What started as a small local event, has turned into a 3-day skate event that has become a must-shred for skaters and crews of the skate-everything-persuasion worldwide. The Bayou Battle is focused on getting more women involved in the event this year (thumbs all the way up!) and there are already over 30 confirmed women to include the Girls Gone Fast crew. On the heels of the 2015 event, which shattered records for attendance, stoke, and fun, the 2016 Battle will continue its tradition of radical skateboarding and good times. The Bayou Battle is unique in the scene given its inclusive nature which combines a range of riding styles, terrain, techniques, and equipment. The Bayou Battle’s main event is a full-contact garage race in the center of downtown Houston at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts and promises to be as Louis Pilloni said, “like wrestling downhill!”. The title sponsors for this year’s event are Jenni’s Noodle House & Landyatchtz.
